Conceptualizing Business Intelligence Architecture

Business intelligence was formed in the mid 1990's by the developing market's demand and core competition within the business comunity. As a part of thriving business world, classic standards such as business experience, knowledge and network aren't enough.Enterprises have to make decision faster than their rivals,in the decision process achieve the appropriate information in the right time become more important,so BI earn competitive advantage to associations and accelerate their work processes.

In this article we can easily apprehend that BI is in the area which is the instersection of enterprise business, their management and information technology.Besides that BI solutions integrated to other information systems easily,so executives achieve the required informations from a one source to set the enterprise strategies.

Shariat and Hightower mention about BI pyramid which shows how to distribute the different business intelligence tools to different user groups. In my opinion dividing the pyramid is very effective but not enough!Although the relationships among the elements, and the externally visible properties are the main points of BI,Shariat and Hightower posit a BI architecture that standardizes most popular methods of presenting BI technology and complies with the popular definition of BI.In their figures they indicate that basic components of BI architecture are;Operational systems,ETL,Data warehouse,BI applications and BI portal. If you have time to read this article you will easily understand the process of BI form figure 1 and figure 2.

Finally we can concatenate the benefits of BI,these are;Speed, scalability, flexibility and performance.According to these properties enterprises should overview the BI,and investigate it because BI is a fast growing technology that exacts complex operations with regard to classic information systems.
